Is Mike Vick Being Bullied Into Being PETA Spokesman?

There is no more heinous offense to one’s image than to do the obvious. Never do the obvious. The obvious in this case is that former NFL star Michael Vick is (PETA) to be their spokesman after he is released from prison in the coming weeks. Bad idea, dude. Bad idea.

You served your time and do not owe anyone anything extra. You can redeem your professional aspirations by simply doing the work that is required in your field, in this case sports, to gain the respect of team management and then fans.  What you are about to do, my friend, is not the work. This is a stunt that has been concocted by some very naïve people around you.

The people who are going to be the ones to support you upon your release are not the Madison Avenue types to which you will be pandering. Your supporters are going to be those who believed that you had redeeming qualities the moment you were sentenced.  They don’t have a specific color or belong to a specific race of people. They simply believe in you.  If you follow through with the PR plan that’s being drafted for you, then you are likely to lose many of them. Me included.
